New Laughs Night is an opportunity for audiences to enjoy comedy newcomers as they try to break into the world of stand-up comedy.

This being Toronto, home of the world's best comedians, the standard of the acts is high. Even though they aren't headliners, it's always surprising how fresh and talented so many Wednesday nighters are.

There is also a special kind of excitement for the audience, watching the enthusiasm these new performers bring to their sets.

The acts only do five minutes each, which means a large variety of performers are presented and a lot of hopefuls get their shot. At the end of the evening, a couple of our local professionals finish off the show with a bang!

Every top act started on an open mic night. You could see tomorrow's Jim Carrey or Jerry Seinfeld this Wednesday night at The Laugh Resort.
